Richmond Holiday Centre, on the Lincolnshire coast, is ideally located only a short walk from the bustling resort of Skegness with its funfairs and sandy beaches while the tranquillity of beautiful, countryside is just a short drive away.  From building sand castles at the seaside to action packed days out at local attractions there's loads for all the family to do when you holiday at Richmond.

Many of our holiday makers are also drawn to the unspoilt beauty of the Wolds while others head for the many parks, historic castles and nature reserves in the area. Whatever you choose to do, this stretch of the Lincolnshire coast offers an abundance of things to see, do and explore and all are easily reached on foot, by car or nearby public transport.

The Skegness Seasiders

Jump aboard the Skegness Seasiders, your ultimate travel companions in Skegness! Join Rocky and his friends as you take a tour of Skegness' seafront by bus.  These individually-named open-top buses run up and down the Skegness coastline, making it easy to see all the seaside attractions and explore the various resorts nearby. With buses running every 10 minutes on route 3 from Easter to October, it's the perfect way to make the most of Skegness.

The Fairy Dell in Skegness is a fantastic FREE paddling pool facility run by the local Council, where your children can burn off some energy and enjoy the sunshine.  Complete with interactive sprinklers, an ornamental fountain and lots of weaving pools, there is plenty of water fun to be had here and with ample amounts of seating surrounding the pool, you can sit back and watch your children have a splashing time!

Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre

The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is a family run museum set up over 20 years ago.  It is now widely seen as a living memorial to the 55,500 men of Bomber Command who lost their lives during WW2 and holds one of the rarest aircraft, an Avro Lancaster Bomber, in its collection along with many wartime vehicles including a Ford WOT1 Crew Bus, the only one of its kind known in existence.  Free parking.

Just 7 miles from Skegness is The National Trust’s 18th century Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens, home to the Massingberd family from 1700 until 1967. The Hall has three floors to explore while outside the gardens are full of colour. Paths across the park & estate offer gentle strolls as well as longer walks, where you can tread the footsteps of Gunby’s former guests including Lord Alfred Tennyson and Ralph Vaughan-Williams. The tea-room offers cakes, sweet treats, savoury snacks and hot and cold drinks.

On summer operating days you can ride in a historic railway carriages, pulled by either one of the historic diesel locomotives, or on steam days  by the Peckett steam locomotive "Jurassic". The diesel locos are based on designs for WW1 trench railways, which later powered transport for agriculture and industry throughout Lincolnshire and the wider world. The steam locomotive "Jurassic" was built in 1903 and spent her working life at a cement works in Southam, near Rugby. Following restoration at the LCLR she returned to steam in mid 2017.

X-Site skatepark is a great local spot with something for everyone whether you are a transitions or street skater. The indoor section is a great place to practise the basics or even try and lay down those harder tricks however the street plaza here is the main attraction for many skaters. It is large and open with super smooth surfaces and is the only thing like it in the area, definitely worth heading down to check it out.

The park's other residents - otters, meerkats and lemurs are wonderful to observe.
